About Course
The Portfolio Management Services (PMS) Distributors - NISM Series XXI-A Certification Course is a dedicated course for in-depth understanding of the PMS distribution space in India. As mandated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), landing an approval certificate in the NISM Series XXI-A examination is a prerequisite for all persons in respect of wholesaling/originating the PMS product. This course is designed to cater to that need.
The study is done in one complete chapter delivered through interactive video lessons. Everything necessary to a full understanding of PMS, from structure and the mechanics of operation, to compliance with regulators and ethical implementation of brokers is considered. In addition, the course academic study meets an experiential test on the weakness in theory to real-world dimension as applied in PMS distribution.
The course will start with an overview of Portfolio Management Services, what they are, how they are different from other investment products, such as mutual funds, and why are preferred by High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs). After that you will cover and understand the three types of PMS structures: Discretionary, Non-Discretionary, and Advisory, and how to distinguish between which model is most appropriate for which client profile.
A key element of the course is its comprehensive analysis of the SEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 2020, which covers eligibility, obligations, and compliance responsibilities as a PMS distributor.
